Normally I wouldn't post something like this,
But I am still quite happy about it and never posted it in this blog because around the time that it happened, I was just getting done moving and I was still trying to organize my various collections of stuff (this is still ongoing). Darrin and I achieved something that is a rarity on the car forum that we are on and met on (www.gaownersclub.com). We both got Grand Am of the Week for the week of March 31, 2008. 2 people have never gotten it on the same week. We were even called the Grand Am Couple. You can see the post about us getting the Grand Am of the Week here... http://www.gaownersclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=88435 and read the thread that got us the Grand Am of the Week here... http://www.gaownersclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=88363

Taa-Daa!!!
I actually finished what I set out to accomplish yesterday. For those of you that know me personally, you know that this never happens!!! Unbelieveable!! I still have to do the weaving in of the ends and attaching straps to the crystal pouches, but I actually completed something!! Today I will be working on another praying hands dishcloth.
The pattern can be found here...

Hope all of you have a great day and I will post photos of the completed items when I get a chance!

Thinking...again...I know...DANGEROUS!!!
I was just realizing...the majority of the projects that I posted yesterday were knitted or crocheted with Lion Brand Yarn. I never really realized that I had that much of it in my stash. Boy, that is a scary thought - not knowing what is in your stash!!! The only things that weren't Lion Brand were the kitchen set that I made as an anniversary gift for Maureen and Rick. Those were knitted and crocheted with Sugar n Cream.
I still have a whole bunch of things on the needles and hooks. There are 3 prayer shawls (1 for someone in particular and 2 that aren't), 3 dishcloths (1 will be finished either today or tomorrow), 1 crystal pouch (will probably be finished today), a baby afghan (I really need to get that done before the kid graduates college, I mean really, he was born over a month ago), 1 hat, and 2 pairs of socks. Yeah, I really have some catching up to do!!! I guess I had better (as I once said to my Grandma) get stitchin'!

Happy Anniversary, Maureen and Rick
Darrin's parent's anniversary was this past weekend (jeez, am I actually caught up with all of my projects???) and I made them a kitchen set. Everything is made out of various cotton worsted weight yarn from my stash (it doesn't even look like I made a dent in the stash!), the towel toppers are crocheted, and the dishcloths are knit.
I even made Rick a special one. He collects and builds model trains. So, as you can seem this is perfect!! Pattern can be found here...http://www.rainyk.com/Dishcloths.html
This is Maureen's favorite animal...the owl...pattern can be found here...http://www.knittingonthenet.com/patterns/clothowl.htm This, by the way, was my first attempt at cables.

Prayer Shawl
This is a prayer shawl I made for one of Darrin's friends who suffered a stroke in April. It is made with the pattern found in the Lion Brand Prayer Shawl book from Caron Simply Soft mill ends that I got at AC Moore a few years ago.
Happy Birthday, Jackie!!
This is the scarf that I made for Darrin's sister, Jackie. She loved her mom's, so I decided that this was going to be her birthday present. It is made from Lion Brand Fun Fur.
Happy Birthday, Don
Yes, even though I broke up with Andrew, I still crocheted a throw for his father, Don. Don is, after all still my business partner. This is made out of Lion Brand Homespun with a pattern that came free in a Lion Brand Catalog. This is the second one of these that I have made. When I started working on this one I realized what I remembered about the first one. This is not a quick project. This took me about a month to complete. The problem with it is that firstly, it is all done in single crochet. secondly, it is worked on the bias which means that I had to concentrate on the pattern more and let the crochet hook fly less.
Happy Anniversary, Honey!
This is a dishcloth that I made for Darrin for our one month anniversary. Unfortunately, this is the only anniversary gift that I have given Darrin. Sorry about that, hun! I owe you 2 more! LOL
This dishcloth has a wolf's head on it. Darrin's favorite animal is the wolf. It is made with Lion Brand Kitchen Cotton in Darrin's favorite color, blue. The pattern can be found on this website. http://www.rainyk.com/Dishcloths.html
Happy Birthday, Maureen
This is the scarf that I gave to Darrin's mom for her birthday on February 26th. Sorry, readers, I kinda fell a little behind with things since the move. So, this is the scarf that I made out of Lion Brand Fun Fur for Maureen.
Crystal Pouches for Darrin's mom, Maureen
Yes, for those of you who don't know yet, I left Andrew in February. My new boyfriend is named Darrin. We have been dating since February 2008 (well, sharing a house since then...since I lived with Andrew I had to move SOMEWHERE!). Darrin's mom and I have a lot in common. One thing being that we are both really into crystal healing. I decided to make her a couple of pouches to carry some of her crystals with her when she goes somewhere. She loved them so much I had to give her the pattern because she wanted to make some of her own! These are made of Lion Brand Sensations Worsted Weight Chenielle Yarn and the beads were some that were in my stash of beads...I think I got them at Michaels a few years back.
